There are no pre-requisites to certification other than passing the exam. If you want to learn about project management best practices quickly, choose PRINCE2. So, to answer your question, which one you should do depends upon your motives. That was because they found the PMBOK so overwhelming with detail and complexity they found it impossible to see the wood for the trees. Students often comment that after doing a PMP course they had no idea what they should do when they returned to work on their project. What I have found is that almost without exception, students find PRINCE2 far easier to understand than PMP (or rather the PMBOK). By the way, the L for library is apt as the current version (V3) is down to 5 books (ITIL V1 was over 30 books!). PRINCE2 / ITIL is primarily focused on IT operations and is highly prescriptive. Many companies create their own aligned with pmbok (or other standard like IPMA). I can apply (parts of) it on any project, also a Prince2 - project. I would therefore dare to call them complementary. It focusses on just a limited set of techniques. It still needs to be tailored to your needs but it is more a manual than a reference guide. It gives a step by step guidance on how to organise and run a project. Prince2 on the other hand is a methodology, with a detailed process model and templates. It is therefore more theoretical, a reference guide. It contains a truck load of processes and 'generally accepted' techniques of project management by which to evaluate or complete the way you run your projects or the methodology you use. PMP is based upon the PMBOK, which is a Standard, NOT a methodology. In a heartbeat, the shining Aeldari civilisation that had lasted for aeons had its heart ripped out, leaving a pulsing afterbirth of pure Chaos in its place. No creature was ever conceived that was as terrible or perverse as the Chaos God Slaanesh. Too late, the Aeldari realised that they had created a god in their own hideous image, a god grown immense and potent by suckling upon the dark fodder of the Aeldari spirit. Slowly, the Great Enemy stirred towards wakefulness. Within the Warp, thoughts and emotions flow together, fed by fellow feelings until they achieve a consciousness of sorts. Slowly, silently, a nascent god of excess grew strong in the depths of the Warp. In the parallel dimension of the Warp, the reflections of these intense experiences began to coalesce, for the shifting psychic tides of the Empyrean can take form around intense emotion felt by large masses of sentient beings. As the moral corruption of the Aeldari tightened its stranglehold, echoes of ecstasy and agony began to ripple through time and space. Omar's fellow refugee and Freddie Mercury enthusiast, Farhad (Vikash Bhai), provides the comic relief along with odd couple Helga (Sidse Babett Knudsen) and Boris (Kenneth Collard) who ensure the men are all "prepared" for their integration into Western society. As each day passes, and after yet another phone call back to his family - who are now living in Turkey - Omar begins to second guess his decision to leave his country, and what little enthusiasm he had gradually drains away. Rather than jar, this change in emotional tack feels natural and in sync with Omar's own feelings. But by the second half, and following an unexpected tragedy, the mood has very much turned as the monotony and boredom felt by Omar and his fellow refugees takes over, as they wait for a faceless institution to tell them if they can stay in the country or not. The first half of the movie is littered with comedic moments as the absurdity of the refugees' situation plays out. In many ways, these counter-positions are encapsulated by the movie's two halves. Limbo is both about isolation and community. Written and directed by Ben Sharrock in what is only his second directorial feature, this superb British movie, set on a remote Scottish island, is a film full of contrasts. The movie is a refreshing take on the lives of refugees so rarely told or portrayed in the media or on-screen. Inquisitive stares and racist language are common throughout, although the movie portrays this more as ignorance rather than anything more sinister. ![]() The refugees encounter mixed reactions from the locals.
